When members of Congregation Derekh Ha’Emet have a question regarding a practical matter of Torah observance, they know just where to turn.
Retail worker Phillip Growler, who is 20 years old, supplies comprehensive and authoritative answers based on his extensive research of the book To Be a Jew and the chabad.org website, which he has been studying diligently for the last 18 months.
“He’so Talmudic,” commented Rabbi Woody B. Frummer, who founded the congregation 32 years ago. “To me it’s not so much about dos and don’ts. I’m under the blood.”
Growler hopes to find a new job soon that will permit him to grow a beard.
