Messiah returns in glory; Yad L’Achim warns he may be involved in missionary activity

JERUSALEM — Numerous reports have indicated that the Messiah has come to the earth on the clouds of heaven Monday, with the sound of a great shofar blast. Sources say that as his feet touched the Mount of Olives, it split in two, with many of the dead rising from their graves. This appears to be in keeping with recent doomsday predictions related to April 23.

In response, anti-missionary group Yad L’Achim has distributed hundreds of pamphlets and posters warning Jews around the country that the Messiah may have “sinister” intentions to proselytize.

Rabbi Shmuel Lifshitz, one of the leaders of Yad L’Achim, appealed to the Interior Ministry to ban the entry of the Messiah along with foreign missionaries to Israel. “Christian missionaries come here to convert the religion of the citizens of Israel and, as such, constitute a danger to the foundations of Jewish life in the country.”
